This is where the new chapter begins, Threshold is the first
live immersive experience I'm offering as Art for Thriving moves fully online.
A three-day taste of what this work feels like.
Live opening ceremony, a private creative day and a live closing together.
Join the first Threshold at the opening price $26 $33 USD
A real taste of what it feels like to make something without
needing to know what it will be
The experience of being witnessed in your creative expression
which is profoundly different from doing it alone
A first encounter with something that arrives when you stop
thinking and start being and creating
Clarity, if it wants to come. Or simply the relief of stopping the
search for a moment
This is for you if...
You feel restless but can't quite name why
You're curious about arts therapy but not sure
if it's for you
You've tried talking about it and it didn't quite
reach the thing underneath
You've told yourself you're not creative, and
some part of you knows that isn't true
Something in you is ready. You felt it before
you couldn't name it.
You keep saving posts that you'll make at
home one day soon
Day 1
Live Opening ceremony with Gemma, bring cacao or your fav herbal tea, we embark on a creative activity together.
The container opens.
Day 2
Private, self-paced where you're guided through a creative arts journey in your own time, in your own space. No one watching, just you and the materials.
Day 3 Live sharing space and Closing ceremony with Gemma. We share what arose and what was created as much or as little as feels right, and the doors to Return open.
No art supplies required, a pen and paper is enough.
No experience or creative background needed.
Attend from anywhere in the world - fully online.
A genuine container - not a passive viewing experience.
You don't need to know what you're making.
You just need to let your hand move. Something will show up. It always does. Threshold gives you the structure, the container and the company. So a blank page doesn't have to feel so heavy.
At first it feels prickly and unsure.
That's normal. it passes. Very quickly it turns into a return to childhood, a return to play, a releasing of expectations. Having your hand held through that is a lot easier than doing it by yourself.
This is real creative arts as therapy.
Not a craft class. Not a mindfulness exercise. It's held by someone who has spent their life in both education and therapeutic spaces, and who knows how to make something unfamiliar feel safe because it's been built that way. You're in good hands.

I've been making things my whole life. Not because I was particularly talented, but because it was the only place I could be found.
Again and again, at every fork in the road, creating something showed me what thinking couldn't.
I didn't just study this, I lived it. Every decision I couldn't think my way through, I went inward first. That's what Art for Thriving is built on, and it's what I designed Threshold to give you a real taste of.
I've spent years holding people- in classrooms and workshops, therapeutic groups, women's retreats and ceremonial spaces. I know how to make a group feel safe enough for something real to unfold.
I have a lifelong creative practice and the academic training to understand why it works. I know this from my insides and from the research.
I'm trained in the art of opening and closing a container. Ritual fascinates me and I weave ceremony into my everyday life.
The arts are just a doorway inward, I hold it open. That's all, you walk through.
Everything you need to know before you begin.
No. The way you butter your toast in the morning is creative.
You don't have to pick up a paintbrush to be a creative. You're creative innately just because you're alive. Threshold meets you exactly where you are and we move from there.

Whatever you have at home, crayons, coloured pencils, paints.
A pen and paper is enough though.
You'll receive guidance on what to gather before Day 1.

Being there live is valuable but not essential.
All three days are recorded and everyone receives the recordings, so you can still move through the experience in your own time.
Day 2 is released after Day 1 closes, so even if you miss the live opening, you can watch the replay and flow straight into Day 2 on the same day.
Day 3 is your opportunity to come together with the group, share what you created and close the container. The recording will be there for you if you can't make it live.

Threshold is facilitated by a registered clinical Arts Therapist and is grounded in real creative arts therapy practice. It is not individual clinical therapy though it's a group experience.
If you're looking for one-on-one therapeutic support, that may be available between cohorts.

If you join Return after Threshold, your $26 USD investment is credited toward Return. You already began with Threshold, Return is the continuation.
