Hey, I'm Gem!
I've been making things my whole life. Not because I was particularly talented,
because it was the only place I could be found. At every fork in the road, making something showed me what thinking couldn't.
First Marks with Gem is the simplest version of what I do: showing up, making something and holding space for you to do the same. No agenda. No outcome required. Just 60 minutes of making in good company.
I'm a registered Creative Arts Therapist. I'm also a teacher, a ceremonial space holder and someone who has spent years going inward through the creative process.
The arts are just the door. I hold it open, that's all. You walk through.

Do I need to be creative or artistic?
No. The way you butter your toast in the morning is creative.
You don't have to pick up a paintbrush. You're creative innately just because you're alive.
First Marks with Gem meets you exactly where you are.
What materials do I need?
Whatever you have at home. A pen and paper is enough. If you want to gather more, bring whatever feels good: paint, pencils, fabric, clay.
There are no requirements, but ideas are sent out in the email.
Will it be recorded?
No. First Marks with Gem is a live experience. There is no recording.
If you miss a session, the next one is two weeks away.
What time does it run?
Tuesday 2:30pm - Auckland NZST

What happens after I sign up?
You'll receive a Google Meet link by email before the session, with some gentle guidance about what to expect.
Show up at the time above, bring whatever materials you have, and we'll make something together.
